GOOD DELI, run by Mix Corp., connects regional Japanese makers with the world through our pop-up store in Asakusa and events overseas. We're currently hiring for our store team in Hanakawado, Taito-ku, and for a role to grow our network of maker partners.

Three roles: our Asakusa pop-up store team (Manager and Staff Member), and a mostly-remote Vendor Sales & Marketing position.

Asakusa Store TeamContract

Store Operations Manager

Asakusa / English — manage day-to-day operations at our pop-up store for international visitors. Side-gig and student-friendly.

LocationHanakawado, Taito-ku, Tokyo (10 sec. walk from Asakusa Station)
Pay¥12,000–¥18,000/day (approx. ¥240,000–¥450,000/month)
Responsibilities
  • Staff training and shift management
  • Planning and executing sales initiatives
  • Inventory management and merchandising
  • Improving the store based on customer feedback
What we're looking for
  • Willingness to serve customers in English (fluency not required — we value the effort to communicate)
  • Knowledge of store operations or management
  • Communication skills and teamwork
  • No experience needed — students and newcomers welcome; we hire for potential
Work style
Each event runs for about 20–30 days and is held several times a year. Outside of these periods you're free to take other work. Optional participation in overseas events (e.g. the Boston Japan Festival).

Asakusa Store TeamContract

Store Staff Member

For those with TOEIC scores or study-abroad experience but no real-world English practice — a hands-on chance to actually serve English-speaking customers in Asakusa.

LocationHanakawado, Taito-ku, Tokyo (same as the Manager role)
Pay¥1,300–¥1,700/hour (approx. ¥208,000–¥340,000/month)
Responsibilities
  • Serving and explaining products to international customers (mainly in English; other languages welcome)
  • Offering samples and tastings
  • Register duties, including cashless payments
  • Supporting sales and visitor data entry
  • Merchandising and restocking
  • Helping take photos for social media (optional)
Training, shift management, and sales strategy are handled by the Manager.
What we're looking for
  • Willingness to serve customers in English (a great way to put TOEIC study or study-abroad experience into practice — fluency not required)
  • Able to work scheduled shifts
  • Communication skills and teamwork
  • Nice to have: customer service experience, other languages, POS/data-entry experience
Work style
Same schedule as the Manager role (event-based, other work allowed between events, from 1 day/week)

Vendor Sales & Marketing

Build the front door of our mission to bring regional Japanese makers to the world, from Asakusa. Split between new-business sales and shaping how we present ourselves on social media and the web. From 3 days/week.

LocationMostly remote (in person at our Hanakawado store only during event periods)
Pay¥1,300–¥1,700/hour + incentive on signed contracts
Employment type
Contract (year-round, not tied to pop-up event periods)
Responsibilities
  • New-business outreach to Japanese makers (from booking meetings via email/contact forms through to signing contracts)
  • Marketing to grow awareness of GOOD DELI (Instagram, website, etc.)
  • On-site marketing — how products are presented and pitched to visitors at the pop-up
  • Building relationships with existing maker partners
  • Taking over sales activity currently run by one student staffer and the CEO, as a dedicated role
Required
  • Sales experience (email, online, or phone sales)
  • Able to drive sales activity independently
  • Comfortable with business communication in Japanese
Nice to have
Marketing/social media experience (especially Instagram) / Website management experience / Startup or small-team experience / English ability (not required, but may become useful as we work with overseas makers)
Work style
From 3 days/week (roughly 6–7 hours/day), around 50+ hours/month expected (more is welcome). Days and hours to be agreed in advance.
Benefits
Mostly remote (bring your own PC and internet) / Incentive on signed contracts (amount varies with contract value; rate undisclosed)
